The primary purpose of the culinary and nutrition lab, will be to introduce and incorporate culinary understanding, knowledge and kitchen skills to students by planning, creating and participating in “farm to table” meal discussion, food preparation and eating.
A course instructor, guest chefs and students from the culinary program at Los Angeles City College will guide students through the program.
The course work will include life skills, science, math, English, history and more.
The culinary and nutrition lab will further introduce students to the fundamentals of proper nutrition and its direct impact on individual and community health.
